Obituary for David McCay David Samuel McCay, age 34, passed away unexpectedly in the home of a friend on June 26, 2018. He was born on January 19, 1984 at John Randolph in Hopewell, Virginia, to Phyllis and Charles Smith. He attended Surry County High School.

He was employed as an equipment operator with Seward Lumber Company. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether with plumbing or constructing things. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Phyllis Smith; brother, Chuck McCay; nephew, Charlie McCay; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Family and friends are invited to Rock Church at 2301 County Drive in Petersburg, Virginia from 7 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018.
