David M. Stacy, 88, of Steubenville, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother, coach, and friend died Saturday, July 21, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 26, 1930 in Pittsburgh, and then moved to Steubenville where he was raised from age 10. Dave was the son of the late Wilmer and Helen Stacy.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Carolee Barrett Stacy, of 55 years. One brother Harold, one sister, Edna Riley, one nephew, George Bogard Jr., and sister-in-law Marcia Turk. Surviving are one son, Mark (Joan) Stacy, two daughters, Jodie (Al) Yoklic and Beth Harris.

One brother Norman (Harriet) Stacy and several nieces and nephews. Dave had six grandchildren whom he adored, Jim Harris, Julie (Bernie) Battistel, Jenna (Mike) Schneider, Jordan, Matt and Ty Yoklic and five great-grandchildren Lydia, Luca, Max, Zane and Celia. Treasured brother-in-law and friend, Bob (Mary Jean) Barrett and sister-in-law, Beverly (Chuck) Norman Dave was a graduate of Steubenville High School.

He was a combat veteran of the Korean War, serving in the USMC. He was also a retiree of Weirton Steel Corp. as a supervisor working in several departments.

He was an Episcopalian by faith and served as an usher for many years at St. Paul’s Church. Dave was a member of American Legion Post 33, Weirton Steel Management Club, and was a Big Red Booster. He was a respected, long time Steubenville Little League manager for the Leicy’s Braves.

Dave played in the North-South All Star football game in Massillon in 1949. He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed following Big Red football and baseball, along with Teramana Post 33 baseball. Friends will be received at Mosti Funeral Home, 4435 Sunset Blvd.

, Steubenville on Tuesday, July 24, from 2:30 p.m. until time of service at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Jason Elliott officiating. Burial will be private by the request of the family.
