January 22, 2019 David V. Gullage NEW SALEM- David V. Gullage of New Salem Mass, born on May 12, 1963, passed away after a long, hard and courageous 7 year battle with Cancer. He was the son of the late Robert and Catherine (Griffin) Gullage. David was a graduate of Ralph C. Mahar, the class of 1981.

David was the owner-operator of Windjammer Carpet Cleaners for 24 years. He also worked with his father for several years insulating homes in and around the area. Never afraid of a challenge, David purchased the home that he and his siblings grew up in when it was slated for demolition and had it physically moved to a new location within the town of New Salem.

He then remodeled and restored the entire house with his own skills. He later left the New Salem area, moving to Framingham where he worked for his good friend Andrew Foilb, owner of Le Limo Co. doing many facets of work. He was highly skilled in many trades.

David also traveled to Cape Cod to work on many of his close friends’ properties. David loved bike riding on the Cape, on the bike Rail Trail between Amherst and Northampton and rides and walks with his family in the Quabbin. David loved animals, especially his two cats, Winnie and Griffin.

He was a big supporter of the ASPCA. David was the youngest of 7 children. He leaves behind at home his sister Susan Gullage and her partner John Gale, and a Nephew, Jonathan Rich who were his caregivers.

Also, his sister Judy (Gullage) MacEwen and husband Paul, brothers Robert G. Gullage of Downey California, Daniel Gullage and wife Teresa of Orange, Gary Gullage and wife Carole of Tully, and Peter Gullage of Orange. Also nephews Dan, Robbie, and Michael Gullage, Greg and Kyle MacEwen, and Jonathan Rich to whom he was extremely close. Nieces Caitlyn Gullage, Amber (Rich) Holloway and Rachael Eyestone.

David also leaves behind Heather, Jeff, Becca, and Danielle Boudreau whom he helped raise, nurture and loved as if they were his own. David was able to travel in recent memory to California where he fell in love with Huntington Beach, much like his beloved Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Services for David will be announced at a later date.

The family will be accepting visitors, friends and family at the home of his sister Susan Gullage for a time of remembrance and sharing on Friday, January 25th 227 North Main Street, New Salem, MA. from 4-9 PM. Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is assisting the family.
