Obituary for David W. Kreis David W. Kreis, 76 David W. Kreis, 76 of Columbus, formerly of Ashland passed away, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on November 28, 1942 to the late Wayne and Marjorie (nee Stover) Kreis. Dave graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1960.

He married the former Debra Jacobs on May 20, 1989. He retired after more than 31 years in 2006 from Carton Service where he was a printer. In his retirement, he worked 3 years at Mohican Hill Golf Club.

He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and Benevolent and Protective of Elks #1360 where he was actively involved in golf, bowling, and helped with fish fry’s. He was an avid music lover and a supporter of Ohio sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes. Dave enjoyed traveling with his family and had a strong love for history and patriotism; always taking the opportunity to thank a veteran.

Most of all, Dave was a devoted family man who always made the interest and needs of his family first. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Debra Kreis of Columbus; one daughter, Melanie (Christopher) Yoder of Columbus; three sons, Daniel (Dawna) Kreis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Douglas (Lisa) Kreis of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Shawn Kelley of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren, David, Daniele, Delaney, Kassydi, Natalie, Ashton, Christian, William, and Isabelle; one great grandson, Mathew; one sister, Linda (Lisle) Liston of Ashland; one brother, Kenneth Kreis of Ashland; one, sister-in-law, Cathy Holt, a brother-in-law, Doug (Angie) Jacobs; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Kreis; and his father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Mary Jacobs.

Funeral services will be held, Monday, January 7, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Snyder officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. An Elk service will be at the conclusion of the visitation.

Immediately following the service a meal and time of fellowship will be held in the Legacy Room at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 1140 Claremont Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to the First Tee of Central Ohio, P.O.
