Obituary for David W. Place David W. Place, 59, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018. Formerly of Belvidere, New Jersey, he had been a Bonita Springs resident since 1990. He was born March 6, 1959 in Easton, PA, the son of Charles Alton and Dorothy Mae (née Moxley) Place.

Dave had a long and respected career in GIS mapping, something he truly loved. He worked at WilsonMiller and Bonita Bay Group then, in 2009, he started his own successful business, GIS Solutions. Recently, he brought his skills to Passarella and Associates.

Dave loved people and had a gift for making friends and keeping them. He was in touch with neighbors and friends from early childhood through high school and college, all the companies he worked for, all the teams he played on, people next door and people met at random. Dave will be truly missed.

David is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Rose Hawley; his brothers, Robert, Richard and Michael Place; and his beloved pal and buddy, Charlie Brown. Visitation for family and friends will take place Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs. At 5:00, friends will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and remembrances of David.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Harry Chapin Food Bank. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home – Family Owned Since 1978. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of David W. Place please visit our Sympathy Store.
