Deacon Shellie’s Obituary Deacon Shellie Williams was born on October 29, 1948 to Willie and Margaret Williams in Ft. Pierce, FL. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida having received his general education in the St. Lucie County Public School System.
He often bragged about being part of the prestigious Lincoln Park Academy Class of 1967. He later attended Indian River Community College and received a certification in Water Treatment. Deacon Shellie Williams started his career at the Host Marriot Fort Pierce Travel Plaza.
He transitioned to the Fort Drum Travel Plaza where he worked his way from a Cook to Assistant Manager. He gave Host Marriot (HMS Host) 33 years of hard work and dedication, and for that reason he was recognized with the HMS Host Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. Upon retiring in 2009, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
His hobby was playing Candy Crush with his treasured I-Pad, as he claimed the title of #1 Candy Crusher in the World. He also had a great sense of humor, claiming to be “The laziest man in Fort Pierce,” after his retirement. Deacon Shellie Williams was a loving husband and father.
While married to his former wife Jacquelyn, he fathered eight children, and he accepted the responsibility of assisting Jacquelyn with raising younger siblings. Deacon Shellie loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Apostolic Church of Jesus under the leadership of Pastor Ezekiel Rhyant, Jr. One of Deacon Shellie’s favorite scriptures was Psalms 23. On Monday, February 11, 2019, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute, Deacon Shellie Williams transitioned from this life to be with the Lord.
He was preceded in his home going by his parents Willie and Margaret Williams; mother of his children Jacquelyn Williams; two daughters Lashunda and Tymeka Williams; three sisters Dorothy Rhyant, Margare Williams, and Priscilla Poole; five brothers, Willie Williams, Harry Williams, Johnny Williams, Ruel Poole, and Eddie Poole, Jr., and brother-in-law. Left to cherish his precious memories are his son: Christopher (Janelle) Williams; daughters: Lavonia (Jeffrey) Thomas of Rockledge, FL; Sebrenia (Ron) Lee and Saline (Walter) Hill of Fort Pierce, FL; Tysheka (Zeruriah “Robbie”) Robinson and Crystal Williams of Orlando, FL; sisters: Ida (Hayward) Lee and Joyce Lark of Fort Pierce, FL, and Patricia (Larry) Hooper of Havana, FL; special brother-in-law (adopted son) Anthony Young, of Raeford North Carolina; sister-in-law: Mary Williams, of Albany, GA, Anita Williams of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Cynthia Poole of Fort Pierce, FL and Sally Poole of Cocoa, FL, godson: Efrem Washington of West Palm Beach, FL grandchildren: Kendale (Melanie) Young of Orlando, FL, Antavia Young, Steven and Brandon Cannon of Cocoa, FL, Gary Knight, Jr, Naketta and Courtney Harris of Fort Pierce, FL, Marketa LaPointe, Chloe Williams, and Zoey Robinson of Orlando, FL, Harmony, Serenity, and Trinity Williams of Atlanta, GA. 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
