Obituary of Deborah Lojkutz Deborah L. Lojkutz, “Debby”, (nee Anderson), age 62, of Shorewood, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, with her loving family by her side. Born July 1, 1955 in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Claire (nee Bodinet) Anderson. She grew up in the 103rd and S. Homan Avenue neighborhood, and was a graduate of Morgan Park High School.

Debby received her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and later received her Master’s Degree in Education from Lewis University. She taught physics for many years at Joliet West High School, and was also an adjunct professor in physics at Lewis University. Debby was very active in the International Society of Physics Teachers.

A loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother, Debby will be remembered for her kind, gentle and soft spoken personality. Surviving are her beloved husband, Gary B. Lojkutz, who she married on June 25, 1977; three children, Matthew Lojkutz of Shorewood, Kristen (Joseph) Valenti of Shorewood, and Mark (Abby) Lojkutz of Morris and five grandchildren, Jovanna Valenti, Teagan Lojkutz, McKenna Lojkutz, Ava Valenti, and Connor Lojkutz. Debby is also survived by four sisters, Barbara (Bill) Battista of Homer Glen, Linda (Mike) Dalton of St. John, IN, Judy Maranto of Mokena, and Donna Omiecinski of Orland Park; one brother, Richard Anderson in California; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Deborah L. Lojkutz will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 9:15 a.m., from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave. , Shorewood. Cremation rites will be accorded following services, and interment will be private.
