Debra Ann Hewitt Cockrell July 13, 1950 – October 25, 2018 (Age 68) An Angel from heaven, returned to her Lord on Thursday, October 25, 2018. After a courageous battle with cancer, Debra peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Debra and her family were residents of Vienna, Va for 37 years and had recently retired to Rehoboth Beach, DE.

Debra was a kind, generous and loving person. She was respected by everyone… Read More » she met because she returned that respect. She recently retired after 20 years as CFO of a charity that provided help to disabled Russian orphans.

There was nothing more in life that she loved than helping a child be safe and live a full, rich life. Debra leaves behind her beloved husband of 38 years, Franklin D. Cockrell, her sons, Matthew F. Cockrell of Washington, DC and Michael A. Cockrell (Anne) of Reston, Va. , two step-daughters, Linda Cockrell Vinson (Brian) and Julie N. Cockrell both of TN.

, three sisters Veryla L. Alexander (Millard) of Annapolis, MD. , Lynn H. Stocks (Haywood) of Rehoboth Beach, DE. , and Mary H. Dudley (Robert) of Arnold, MD.

Debra also leaves four grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. The family will receive friends at the Money & King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave. , Vienna, Va.

, on Wednesday, October 31st from 6-8 PM. . Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 1st at 11:30 AM at The Church of the Good Shepherd UMC, 2351 Hunter Mill Rd.

, Oakton, Va. Interment will follow at Flint Hill Cemetery.
