Debra Ann Flowers March 29, 1963 – Dec. 6, 2018 Brookings resident Debra Ann Flowers passed away unexpectedly in Crescent City, California, at the age of 55. She was born March 29, 1963 in Roseburg, Oregon to Garry A. and Phreda E. (Martindale) Nelson.

Debra graduated from the University of Oregon and was employed by Brookings Harbor School District 17C for the last 15+ years. She was an Online Education Coordinator and worked with students by aiding them in achieving their… Read More » academic goals. She took great pride in her children’s accomplishments and their success in fulfilling their dreams.

She loved her job and enjoyed working with her peers. Debra was an avid reader and crafter, and particularly enjoyed games with words. She especially enjoyed long camping trips to the Fourth of July fireworks in Long Beach, Washington with family and friends.

Debra married her childhood sweetheart, Bruce D. Flowers, on September 29, 1994 in Brookings. She is survived by her husband, Bruce, of Brookings; son Sean Townsend of Eugene and daughter Jenna Flowers of Beaverton; brother Ed Nelson and his wife Shelly of Springfield. No public services are planned at this time.
