Smith in Bogalusa, LA. She departed this life on February 1, 2019 at her residence surrounded by family. Debra was a 1975 honors graduate of Bogalusa High School.

After high school, Debra served in the U. S. Army Reserve where she was honorably discharged from active duty with an administrative specialist course. She worked in many capacities during her life; telephone operator at Bell-South/AT&T, Administrative Worker with Bogalusa Housing Authority, Clerk Service Zone, Psych Tech with Charity Hospital of Bogalusa as well as Southern Hospital in Mandeville, LA. Debra was an active member of Thirkield United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Usher Board.

She was proceeded in death by her loving parents, Mary and Joe Smith; her grandparents, Ella and Mitchell Carter; her sisters, Pamela Smith and Mary Ella Smith-Fields; her brother, Coach Melton Harry, and her cousin, Alvin Carter who was like a brother. She will be foundly remembered and loved by her sisters, Penny S. Mack, Cynthia S. Jackson, and Joelnette Collins all of Bogalusa, LA; her brothers, Joseph L. Smith of New Orleans, LA and Richard W. (Gwynderlyn) Smith, Glynn E. Smith both of Bogalusa, LA and Ricky Hill of Jackson, MS; her aunt Mattie C. Wallace of Bogalusa, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the Thirkield Family.
