Rochester Hart September 25, 1944 – January 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mr. Rochester Hart was born September 25, 1944 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Leon Hart, Sr. in Franklinton, LA. He was the second of six children to this union and the fourth child in a total of eight. Rochester, better known as Roy, joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age.

He later moved to New Orleans, La where he took up the trade of cement finishing in which he started his own business. He continued in this business until his health prevented him from continuing to work. Roy was a diligent working man.

He worked hard and played harder. He was often known for his flashy “pimp” style fashions and his stoic demeanor. After his health began to fail him, he later moved to Lafayette, LA to be near his sister, Beverly, where he resided until he fell asleep in death.

Roy leaves to mourn three daughters, Sheryl Guitroz (Perry) of Slidell, Yolanda Morris (Brian) of New Orleans and Sherry Rose of New Orleans; two sons, Pierre Hart (Charlene) of New Orleans, LA, Donprel Martin (Raheal) of Fresno, CA; four sisters, Belavin “Beverly” Woods (Ronald) of Lafayette, LA, Alvia Williams (Lavelle) of Carmichael, CA; Charlene Jones and Leaudry Connor of Franklinton, La; one brother, Lawrence Hart (Patricia) of Shreveport, La; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Leon Hart, Sr. and Dorthy Mae Bell Hart; one daughter Lisa; sister, Ladonis Cooley and brother, Leon Hart, Jr; a very special friend, Alice. The visitation will be 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home-Franklinton.

The funeral service will follow at 12:00p.m. Rev. Johnny Causey, officiating. Interment will be at Bell Cemetery.
