Obituary for Debra “Debbie” Joyce True Taylor Debra “Debbie” Joyce True Taylor, 67 year old resident of Gentry, Arkansas, died on May 28, 2018 at her home. Born on September 20, 1950 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Clyde “Edwin” True and Betty Vermillion True. As a child, she grew up in two households, her parents on the dairy farm and her second mother, Bobbie Ogdon, where she had the run of Springtown.

Debbie loved playing in the creek and having adventures with her sisters and brother. She attended Gentry Schools and graduated in 1968. She went to school at the University of Arkansas for one year before starting her family.

Debbie worked at Smith Drug in Gentry, before going to work at McKee Foods where she retired. On September 20, 1999 she married Johnny Taylor at Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Church. Debbie attended Springtown Christian Fellowship Church.

She enjoyed camping, country music, dancing, playing cards, sewing and gardening. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and loved attending the many activities of her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin True; sister, Janice Smith; stepfather, George Clark; grandson, Wyatt Sligar; son-in-law, Tony Jude; and her second mother, Bobbie Ogdon.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Taylor of the home; three daughters, Bobbi Sligar and husband Ron of Siloam Springs, Vicki Edmondson and husband Gerald of Gentry, and Sherri Ward and fiancée Mike Amos of Gentry; mother, Betty Clark of Gentry; nine grandchildren: Ethan Sligar, Tracy Warren, Raegan Jude, Andrea Ratcliff, Kim Edmondson, Tyson Ward, Colt Amos, Kasen Amos, and Rhett Amos; six great grandchildren; four stepchildren, Kevin Taylor and wife Robin of Lowell, Arkansas, Tammy Benton and husband Frankie of Seligman, Missouri, Jonathan Taylor of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Matthew Taylor and wife Brittany of Springdale, Arkansas; six step grandchildren: Michael Ketcher, Jackson Ketcher, Amelia Taylor, Malachi Taylor, Sebastian Taylor, and Nevaeh Taylor; three sisters, Marion Pitts and husband Ross, Darleen Allen and husband Carl, and Carla Beeman and husband John, all of Gentry; brother, Rick True and wife Debbie of Bentonville, Arkansas, brother-in-law, Joe Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2018 at Springtown Christian Fellowship Church in Springtown, Arkansas, with Pastor Mark Rotramel officiating. Burial will follow at Springtown Cemetery.
