Debra “Debbie” Lynn (Endres) Matzke passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2018 at home. She was born on March 3, 1952, at Madison General Hospital in Madison, WI, the daughter of Robert and Lois Endres of Mt. Horeb, WI.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gary Matzke, her daughter Nicole Matzke-Sperry and son in law Kyle Sperry. Debbie is also survived by her grandson, Ethan Sperry, her mother Lois Endres, her brothers Larry (Lorraine) Endres, and Kevin (Carol) Endres and special friends… Read More » Steve and Teri Martin. Debbie was preceded in death by her son, Justin Matzke, her father, Robert Endres, and Gary’s parents.

Debbie moved to Evansville with her family in 1957 and graduated from Evansville High School in 1970. On June 3, 1978 Debbie married her soulmate, Gary Matzke, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evansville, WI. They settled in Evansville to raise a family.

She worked at Meriter hospital for 11 years. When Nicole was born, Debbie became a stay-at-home mom and babysitter to many children. Her greatest joy was children especially, her own two children and her only grandchild, Ethan.

Being a Grandmother brought her so much happiness. Debbie was very observant often giving compliments. She was a caring person always there for anyone.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Debbie loved to talk, read books, taking long car rides, dining out, and spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by so many.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home Evansville with Reverend Matthew Poock St. John’s Lutheran Church Evansville officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill cemetery Evansville. A visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
