Debra Kay Katarski, 46, of Edinboro, died at home on Saturday, July 14, 2018. She was born in Phoenix, AZ on July 16, 1971, daughter of Peggy Wiederholt, of Reno, NV. After moving to Edinboro, Debra continued her education and attended Edinboro University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing along side her sister, Tina.

She worked as an IV nurse at UPMC Hamot for six years. Her desire to be a nurse came from her love of helping people. Debra’s strength and courage gave others hope when they needed it most.

Debra was always happiest around family. From quiet get-togethers to big events, she loved to share her time with her children and grandchildren. She would always part with a hug and a kiss.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Amber (Robert) Mattis of Erie, Jamie (Jason) Hipwell and Jessica Katarski, both of Edinboro; the father of her children, Wade Katarski of Edinboro; two sisters, Tina (Gabe) Stanton and Diana Lobos, both of Reno, NV; 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Parker, Kaydence, Payton, Marshall and Robert; also many other family members including those in Nevada. Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 1 to 5 p.m. A short funeral service will be held there at 5 pm.
