Funeral service for Delpha Rooks Hayes, 96, will be Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Compton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home. Mrs. Hayes died on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born June 10, 1922, in Lawrence County to William Arthur Rooks and Zellar Ann (Osborne) Rooks.

She was a homemaker and was employed for a time at Cato’s as a clerk prior to retirement. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Preceding her in death were her husband: Hodge Hayes, four sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include: Three Sons: Lathern Hayes (Jenelle), Arley, AL Lamon Hayes (Elizabeth), Arley, AL and Lanny Hayes (Linda), Hartselle, AL One Daughter: Sharon Bryant (Joe), Massey, AL One Sister: Shelby Greene Seven Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren Pallbearers will be Devin Joyner, Allen Hayes, Brian Hayes, Andrew Stubbs, Jody Borden, and Jamie Borden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Koen Joyner, Jake Boden, Langston Borden, Andrew Yancey and Brent Mardis. Peck Funeral Home 1600 Hwy 31 SW P.O. Box 427 Hartselle, AL 35640 256.
