Rev. Tony Wilford will officiate.

Mrs. Weeks, 59, passed away Thursday, January 17 in Richardson. Denise was born March 18, 1959 in Houston to the late Dal and Billye Jo (Cantrell) Gerneth. On October 20, 1984, she and Don Weeks were married in Fort Worth.

Denise, who wrote under the pen-name, Shalanna Collins, was a published author for Oak Tree Press and Muse Harbor Publishing. Denise had numerous hobbies. She enjoyed photography and was an accomplished pianist who could play music by ear.

She had a lifelong dream of living on the Pacific Ocean. Mrs. Weeks is survived by her husband Don of Richardson; five cousins, Patricia Jackson of Sherman, Steve Cary of Aurora, Texas, Franklin Cary of Pottsboro, Jay Cantrell of Fort Worth, and Jennifer Cricchio of Norman, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, David B. Weeks and wife Alice of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Laurie Wilford and husband Tony of Fort Worth; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends including the many friends she made in her work as a writer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
