Dennis was a member of Local 82, Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union. He was an avid fisherman, fishing for salmon, halibut, tuna, lake trout, ocean perch, crabbing & shrimping, corvina, tarpon, and marlin in South America and Panama. He hunted in Canada and East Washington, once having his 500 pound moose ground into hamburger.

His family claims some still remains in the freezer. He built a house on Mason Lake, and another in San Felepe, Mexico, where he enjoyed his winters * traveled cross country in his dual motorhomes. At his request, Dennis wished to have a private Celebration of Life.

Preceded in death by his father and mother, James Wesley Weaver and Isabel Groshong Leavy. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Jan Coulter Weaver; children, Douglas Carey (Vivian) Weaver, Daniel James Weaver, Dean Anthony Weaver, Denise Rene Weaver Callaghan (John), and Dellen Layton Weaver (Linda); grandchildren D.J. Weaver (Rachelle), Kelsey Callaghan, Ryley Callaghan, McKenna Weaver, and Madison Weaver; step-grandchildren Shauna Farnsworth, Derek Farnsworth; and great-granddaughter Addison. Dennis graduated from Stadium High School in 1956, playing football.

Upon graduation he worked for Pease & Sons before opening his own company, Denny’s Plumbing and Mechanical Contracting. He invented Dowel Top, a safety product used in construction, and owned the Golden West Tavern on South Tacoma Way.
