Dennis Fleet Layne, 98, of Asheboro, formerly of Ramseur, died Monday, March 11 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral Services, 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, Ramseur. Officiating, Rev.

Gary Mason, Rev. Ransom Love. Burial, Parks Crossroads Christian Church, Ramseur with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Dennis was a native of Surry County, a retired supervisor with 27 years of service with Phillips Brothers Country Ham, and a past vice-president of Hall & Knott Mens Clothing for 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII, and a member of Parks Crossroads Christian Church where he was a previous usher. Dennis was a former member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Lawson Layne, parents, John L. and Sallie Greenwood Layne, brother, Leo Layne, sister, Lorene Brooks. Survivors: sister, Virginia Anderson, of Houston, TX , nieces, Linda Brooks, of Ramseur, Sandra Townsend, of Houston, TX, Janna DeLuca, of Kernersville, Marion Hughes, of Asheboro, nephews, Randy Brooks, of Gibsonville, Larry Anderson, of Littleton, CO. , sister-in-law, Jane Layne.
