Dennis V. Berg, 62, passed peacefully on November 25th at Sanford Hospital under the care of Hospice. He fought a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. Per Dennis’ wishes there will be no services, but there will be a time to share stories and memories of Dennis on Wednesday, November 28th at 7 PM with a visitation from 5-7 PM, Rev.

Linda Schauer officiating, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton, ND. Interment will be at Emmanuel Lutheran, where he was a member, in Abercrombie on Thursday November, 29th at 11am. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home.

Dennis was born on February 15, 1956 in Breckenridge, Minnesota, to Olaf and Anna (Egger) Berg. He attended school in Abercrombie and farmed in the local area. Dennis was a member of the Aber Jaycees.

He enjoyed nature and the great outdoors and in his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Minnesota Viking fan and followed NDSU Bison football. He was a member of the “Aber Jaycees” He loved attending Country Music festivals and listening to Country music.

Those left to cherish his memories include his sister, Lois (Larry) Walker, Marion, Iowa; brother, Jerry of Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo; brother, Allan (Jesse) Berg, Abercrombie; two nephews, Michael and Steven Estenson; and two nieces, Debra Berg-Simon and Cindy Zietz. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents: Olaf (Anna) Berg In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society in Dennis’ name. The family would especially like to thank the doctors and nurses at Sanford Hospital for the wonderful care given him in his last days and the visits from his wonderful friends.
