Derrick “Mann” Denard was born on August 11, 1967 to Kaiser Smith and Louise Denard in Jersey City, New Jersey. He departed this life on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 51. He attended Lincoln High School in Jersey City, New Jersey.

He was the only son of six children. He was employed at the Community Harvest Food Bank where he packed shelves, unloaded the truck and completed a host of other duties. Mann will be most remembered for his cooking.

Mann loved to cook and if you ever purchased one of his dinners you will know he was very good at it. He like for things to be clean. He kept a clean house and a very clean vehicle.

He would offer to wash your car when he thought it didn’t look clean. He would even go as far as doing the white glove test in your home while looking you directly in your face! Mann was kind and helpful.

If he could help you with something or do something for you he would do it. Whether it’s taking out your trash, mowing your lawn or getting you the daily paper. He would do it because that’s Mann!

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: two sons, Derrick Wallace of Jersey City, NJ and Dashawn Wallace of Fayetteville, NC; three daughters, Alice Wallace of Jersey City, NJ, Daquanna Wallace of Fayetteville, NC and Bianca Aviles of Fort Lauderdale, FL; mother, Louise Denard of Fort Wayne; four sisters, Karen (David) Brookins of Florida, Chavelle A. (Elliott) Porter of New Jersey, Kim (Sammy) Siratei and Geraldine Denard both of Fort Wayne; fiance’, Alice McKnight of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, one uncle and other relatives and friends.
