OBITUARY Dewey Thomas White May 19, 1931 – December 11, 2018 Dewey Thomas White, age 87, of Vance, Ala. , passed away December 11, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Evergreen Baptist Church in Vance, Ala.

with David Pope and Jack Cleary officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Vance with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca; parents, Aaron and Gladys White; brothers, Fred White and Billy White; and sister, Minnie Battles. Survivors include his wife, Lou Evelyn White; daughter, Diane W. Pope; sons, Richard White and Scott White; sister, Jessie Williams; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. White spent his career as a truck driver and in coal mining.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Pope, Austin Pope, Dalton Harris, Ian White, Bobby White and Mike Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are the Vance Volunteer Fire Dept. , George Battles, Nell Cooley, Sue Thompson, Mike Johnson, Fellowship Class of Evergreen Baptist Church and Scarlett Tillette.
