OBITUARY Charles David Kitchens February 29, 1952 – December 7, 2018 Play Tribute Movie After a yearlong battle with cancer, Charles David Kitchens (Dave), of Tuscaloosa, Ala. , went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2018, at the age of 66. Dave was born in 1952 to Charles and Hazel Kitchens of Parrish, Alabama.

He spent his youth working on the family farm, graduating from Walker County High School in 1970, and later graduating from the University of Alabama. He married the love of his life, Kay McCrory Kitchens in 1975. He provided for his wife and two children by working at BF Goodrich for over 30 years.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother; sacrificially giving of himself his entire life to ensure that his family’s needs were met. He was also a helpful neighbor, a good friend, and a faithful servant and deacon at Alberta Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles G. and Hazel (Smith) Kitchens; and his grandson, Kent Aday.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Kay McCrory Kitchens; his children, Aimee Kitchens Aday (Ken) and Greg Kitchens (Kelli); grandchildren, Kelsie, Misty, Rebecca and Alaina Aday and Brody, Levi, and Kase Kitchens; sisters, Melinda Kitchens Blair (Tom), Lauretta Kitchens Price (Tony) and Sharon Kitchens Wouters; and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his family and many friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff at Manderson Cancer Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center and West Alabama Hospice for their care of Dave during his last days.

Pallbearers will be Ed Barnette, Ray Carroll, Lanny Holbrook, John Matthews, Tim Perkins and Bart Tingle. Honorary pallbearers are members of his Sunday school class and employees at BF Goodrich. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Colby Mouchette and Keith Pugh officiating.

Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Monday from 12:30 – 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
