OBITUARY Diane Eldredge Carney July 20, 1946 – October 20, 2018 Diane Eldredge Carney, age 72, entered in to eternal rest on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Beloved mother of Christy Elizabeth Carney (James “Rocky” Sanchez, Jr.) and the late John Eldredge Carney. Daughter of the late Willard Atwood Eldredge and Gloria Leaumont Eldredge.

Sister of Willard George Eldredge (Fred Broxon). She is also survived by her beloved dog Toedoe. Diane was a graduate of Riverdale High School Class of 1964 and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Louisiana State University.

She was a retired Director of the Very Special Arts Program at East Jefferson High School where she taught the Autistic Education Program for many years. She enjoyed visiting churches of many different faiths, loved gardening, animals, history and watching WYES Public Broadcasting Station. Diane was a very sweet person and much loved by everyone whose lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. , near Clearview Pkwy.

, in Metairie, LA on Friday morning, October 26, 2018 beginning at 9:00 AM with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
