After all of her children had gathered around her in family prayer, Diane Davis Harper slept peacefully as she left this life December 3, 2018 to re-join Neil. Diane was born April 12, 1931 in Corinne, Utah the oldest daughter of George Lorenzo and Alice Fredricksen Davis. She grew up, with her parents working at the Chesapeake Duck Club in West Corinne and West Corinne remained her lifelong home.

It’s where she and Neil raised their five children on the family farm. She regularly put aside the lipstick and drove the 2-ton truck as she taught her children and grandchildren about family, love and hard work. Neil and Diane were high school sweethearts and married soon after graduation in the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

After Neil died almost six years ago, Diane was never alone because she had the blessing of having all of their five children close by. Greg and Jenny Harper, Kenneth Harper and Steve and Connie Harper all live in West Corinne. Eva Jean and Reese Carter are in Mantua and Alice and Marvin Neff live in Willard.

Her baby brother Fredric and Cheryl Davis kept tabs on her from Tremonton. She served others through various church callings in nearly every auxiliary. Her well-worn scriptures attest to her love of God and His words.

An accomplished pianist/organist, Diane enjoyed teaching most of her grandchildren to play the piano. One of the most contagious things about Diane is her cheery giggle. An eternal optimist, she easily found the good in every person and everything in her life.

It’s no wonder that everyone loved to be with Diane, including her 26 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Besides Neil, Diane is now happily re-joining her parents, her sisters Elaine Nelson and Bev Hess, four grandchildren (Cole, Coleen, Craig and Jared) and three great-grandchildren (Isabella, Davis and Boedy). She lived every day with the smile she was born with.

She left behind the world and its things of no consequence and took with her what really matters most about life, her relationships with God, her family and hundreds of friends who all felt her acceptance and love. Special thanks to Dr. Beard, Dawn, Jannie and her wonderful staff at Gables Assisted Living and Hospice. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Corinne 2nd Ward Chapel, 2325 N. 4000 W., Corinne, UT.

Viewings will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Corinne Cemetery.
