June 19, 1945 – February 20, 2019 Dianne Lorraine Hunt was born June 19, 1945 in Mankato, the youngest child of John and Anna Boelter. The Boelter family moved from southern Minnesota to a farm in Ham Lake when Dianne was a little girl, putting down roots in the area that last to this day. Dianne graduated from Anoka High School in 1963.

In early 1964, she met Larry Hunt of Richfield, MN while both were cruising the Forest Lake “strip” with their friends. They were married on October 24 of that year. Dianne and Larry made their home in Ham Lake for more than 30 years before moving to the Perham, MN area.

Along the way they raised three sons and enjoyed the company of several dogs, especially Travis, Sparky, and Bugsie. For a number of years after moving to the lake, Dianne and Larry wintered in an RV park just north of Phoenix, enjoying the warm Arizona sunshine and entertaining guests. In 2015, they moved to St. Michael, MN to be closer to family.

Dianne artfully balanced the responsibilities of being a wife and mother with her job as a medical transcriptionist for Crosstown Clinic, attending band concerts, Scout meetings, and basketball and football games, as well as cooking countless meals and washing endless loads of clothes to keep up with her growing boys. Dianne was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She looked forward to holidays and birthdays, because that meant the family would be gathered together.

She delighted in the time she spent with her grandchildren, calling them her “little bees”. Although her health declined rapidly in her final years, Dianne’s love and sense of family never dimmed. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers James and Gene.

She is survived by her siblings Deloris and Maynard; her husband Larry; sons John (Julie) of Big Lake, Kevin (Tami) of Savage, and Brian (Jodi) of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren Ethan (Barbara), Olivia, Joshua, Carter, Josie, Jarrett, Bennett, and Truman; special dog Bugsie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In accordance with her wishes, Dianne was cremated. Her ashes will be interred at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Ham Lake in the spring.

Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Dianne on March 2 from 1 to 3 pm at Lord of Glory Lutheran Church, Elk River, MN.
