Mrs. Dolly Dimple Ashburn Collier, age 83, of Cookeville, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in Cookeville. Dolly was born on August 15, 1935 in Putnam County to the late Oscar Dee Ashburn and Vada MayBell (Montgomery) Ashburn. She was married to Lewis Collier on August 18, 1956 until his death in 1998.

Dolly loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, and her many friends; and she was always taking care of others. She enjoyed daytripping and eating at the Rose Garden Restaurant. As a Christian, Ms Dolly loved worshipping at her church, Taylors Seminary Freewill Baptist Church.

She retired as a seamstress from Wilson Sporting Goods after 50+ years. In addition to her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by her daughter-like niece, Kathy Montgomery; brothers Calvin Ashburn, Corbet Ashburn, Johnny Melvin Ashburn, Leonard Ashburn; and sisters Amy Jane Ashburn Hickey and Anna Mae Ashburn Golden; along with infant siblings Frances Geraldine Ashburn, Christine Ashburn, Della Ashburn, Carlos Ashburn, and Ellis Ashburn. She is survived by her Sister, Octa Evanell Statzer (Husband Jim) of Spring Hill, Florida; Sister-In-Laws Joyce Montgomery and Lorene Ashburn; and special nephews Marvin and Melvin Montgomery, and special niece Carolyn Montgomery; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to THANK the staff and caregivers at NHC Healthcare for the care they extended to Ms Dolly over the past five plus years. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 27th at Dyer Funeral Home, with funeral at 1:00 pm. Bro.
