Dolores Gannuscio Collings 1940 – 2018 Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dolores Gannuscio Collings, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 12, 2018 at the age of 78. Dolores was born on April 24, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Antonio Napoli Gannuscio and Eva Workman Gannuscio. She married the love of her life, Richard Holton Collings on December 9, 1960 in Salt Lake City.

They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They resided in Salt Lake City, Bountiful, and Centerville, Utah. They were married for 54 years and she was widowed 4-years since Richard’s passing in July 2014.

They were blessed with three children, Jeffery Richard Collings, Ricky Lee Collings, and Pamela Collings. Dolores graduated from West High School in 1958. She was a member of the West High Pep and Glee Clubs.

After graduating she went to work for Deseret News Press as a receptionist/secretary in the Sales, Personnel, Engineering and Production departments. Her excellent short-hand and typing skills landed her a role working for Thomas S. Monson. She was elected and selected in January 1960 as “Miss Printing Week Queen”, an honor given by her employer.

Throughout most of her married life, she and Richard worked various part-time janitorial work including many years at Beneficial Life Insurance in downtown Salt Lake City. When not working, Mom was an immaculate homemaker and loved developing her home as a sanctuary from the world. She extended this to the outdoors as an astute gardener who thoroughly enjoyed planting flowers and making her yard a retreat to enjoy.

Her legacy of a crisp and wonderful looking yard is still discussed even years after moving from their home. Her children are convinced that the many inside and outside projects, along with assisting in the family janitorial efforts, were an attempt to teach discipline and hard work for which we will ever be grateful. Over the last few years her health had declined keeping her bound to a wheelchair while residing at Barton Creek Assisted Living.

There she found a new hobby as an avid Utah Jazz fan. She would not miss a game on her big screen TV and followed the team’s progress during and in the off-season. Dolores will be remembered as a loving mother with a sharp wit and keen sense of humor.

Overall, her contagious smile will be missed the most. Dolores is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions over the years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Jeffery Richard Collings (Ellen) of Kaysville, Ricky Lee Collings of Centerville, Pamela Summers (James) of Centerville. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Christopher Collings, Amber (Tyler) Williams, Kimberly Collings, Brandon Collings, Tyler Collings, Kourtney (Russell) Abdulla, Kiana Collings, Mason (Kenzie) Summers, Cache (Aubrey) Summers, Braxton Summers, Taeya Summers. She is also survived by four, soon to be five great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thanks Barton Creek Assisted Living for the many years of support and care during her stay Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday July 20, 2018 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
