Obituary of Domingos Brum Domingos Nicolino Brum, age 80, of Bridgeport, faithful loving husband of 57 years to the late Maria Madalena Valente Brum, passed away with his loving family by his side after a strong battle with cancer, on November 30, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Born on February 18, 1938 in Feteiras, Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Gilberto DeBrum and Mariana Amaral DeBrum. Domingos emigrated to the United States in 1966 with his family and has since resided in Bridgeport.

He was a retired machine operator for Mark IV Construction and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478. He was the foundation of his family bringing love, strength, humor, and wisdom to them. He was self-made and a hard working person driven to succeed from his skill with every kind of tool or machine to owning and managing rental properties.

He was always there to help friends and family with projects or help solve a problem. He enjoyed gardening, playing sueca, and dominoes, and spending time with his family and grandkids as well as volunteering at his parish. He loved and adored his wife.

He will be reunited with her and they will dance among the clouds. He is survived by his children, Anamaria Vieira Brum and husband Sergio of Shelton, Madalena Angelo and husband Carlos of Trumbull, Domingos Brum Jr and fiance Lena Mingay of Bethlehem, Paulina Brum-Silva and husband Manuel of Naugatuck, Cindy Viveiros and husband Paul of Bridgeport; his grandkids Julie Mendes, Jenny Ruby, Stephanie DeFeo, Kathleen and Crystal Vieira, C.J., Matthew, and Sarah Angelo, Andrew, Tiffany and Justin Brum, Natalie and Manuel Silva, and Christopher, Zachary and Olivia Viveiros, 8 great-grandkids. He also leaves to cherish his memory siblings, Hermano DeBrum, Horacio DeBrum, Leonilde DeLima, Gilda Oliveira, and Maria Fatima Silvestrei, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Gilberto DeBrum and sister Felieciana Neves. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
