Obituary of Maria Sendas Maria Fatima Carvalho Sendas, age 81, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Sebastiao Sendas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Carrazedo de Montenegro, Portugal on February 1, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Joaquim and Emilia da Conceicao Carvalho. Maria was a retired employee of Acme United.

She enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, crocheting and tending to her garden. But her greatest joy was found in the time she spent with her husband and son. She was a loving wife and mother and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her beloved husband Sebastiao of 42 years, survivors include her cherished son, Scott Sendas of Bridgeport, two sisters, Augusta Valpacos and Natalia Valpacos, both of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, sister-in-law, Maria E. Carvalho, as well as several nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her brothers, Roldao, Nuno, Afonso, Henrique, ZeMaria and Fernando Carvalho and a sister, Zeza Salgueiro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd. , Trumbull.
