Obituary for Don Johnson Sr. Don Creed Johnson, Sr., passed away on December 20, 2018. Don was born July 13, 1938 in Crowell, (Foard County), TX to Audrey Ward and Ruby Ella (Wisdom) Johnson. He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents and his daughter, Audria Donet Johnson Decker.

Don loved working the land. Growing up in the wide open spaces of west Texas instilled in him a great appreciation for the native landscape of the state. He was most at home on the ranch where he could be close to God’s creation in nature and livestock.

Don also found true love to complete him when he met Janina Oakley. They married on May 24th, 1969 in Canyon, Tx and, together, they made a loving home wherever life took them as they raised their three children. Together they were devoted to serving God in their local churches, and Don could often be found working on church grounds or traveling to assist in building projects.

Don enjoyed time with family and friends, sharing meals and playing dominoes especially “42”. His unconditional love and devoted support for his family will be a legacy carried on into future generations. Don is survived by his wife, Janina (Jan) Johnson; son, Don C. Johnson, Jr., and wife, Renee; daughter, JaDonna Brattin and husband, Dayton; grandchildren: Jillian Hoover, Jackson Hoover and wife, Kim, Jayne Hoover, Nathan Decker, Joshua Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Cloe Brattin, and Dayton Clay Brattin as well as other extended family members and a host of friends.

Graveside services for Don will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at College Mound Cemetery in Terrell, Texas.
