Donald Eilt Ennenga, 86, of Holland, passed away on October 26, 2018, at Arlington Place in Grundy Center while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 5-7 PM at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at 10:30 AM at Colfax Presbyterian Church in rural Holland with Pastor Robby Grames officiating.

Visitation will resume from the evening prior at 9:30 AM at the church. Burial will follow the funeral service at Colfax Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military rights performed by the Grundy Center American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, Covenant Cancer Center, Waterloo, or Colfax Center Presbyterian Church Library.

Donald Eilt Ennenga was born on February 07, 1932, in Grundy County, the son of Eilt and Kate (Eckhoff) Ennenga. He received his early education through the Iowa rural school program, later graduating from Grundy Center High School with the class of 1950. Don completed a tour of duty while serving in the United States Army, being stationed in Korea and was honorable discharged.

He later returned to Holland where he met and married C. Marie Hayungs and they were married for 51 years until her passing on November 10, 2006. Don and Marie made their home in Holland and Don was employed at the Holland Grain Company for over 25 years before moving to Dayco Manufacturing in Eldora for 15 years until he retired. He was a dedicated husband, father, sibling and member of his community.

He was a member of Colfax Presbyterian Church and a volunteer fire fighter for the city of Holland. Don enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling with family to many destinations. Donald is survived by his children Keith Ennenga of Cool, CA, Michael Ennenga of Sandpoint, ID and Julie (Jon) Englert, sharing the same birthday as her dad, of Show Low, AZ; grandchildren Cassidy and Abigail Ennenga of Sandpoint, ID; brother Arnold (Joe Ann) Ennenga of Conrad; sister Mildred (Reginald) Thornton of Oelwein.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Eilt and Kate, wife Marie, brothers Willard, Clarence, Dale and Leroy, sisters Izetta Kuehl, Esther Heeren, sisters-in-law Hannah Ennenga, Irene Ennenga, Elaine Ennenga, brothers-in-law Hans Kuehl, Jake Heeren, nephews Ronald Ennenga, James Kuehl, Gary Ennenga and niece Brenda Cohen.
