Donald F. Barnes, 50 years of age, of Beatrice passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at his home. He was born March 30, 1968 to Francis and Nancy (Carel) Barnes. He graduated from Odell High School in 1987.

Donald worked as a Maxi Press Furnace feeder at American Tool in DeWitt for 15 years. He loved country music especially Garth Brooks, coloring and professional wrestling. Donald loved his family and was especially proud of his brother being in the military.

Donald is survived by his parents; sister, Becky Barnes of Beatrice; brothers, Robert Barnes and wife Kim of Adams, Stacy Barnes and wife Kim of Lincoln; nieces and nephews, Alexis, Hailey, Ethan, Isaac, Preston and Kendra; aunts and uncles, Harry Carel, Jr and wife Linda, Willie Carel and wife Barbara, Linda Langdale and husband Robert, Gene Barnes and Kay McCarter. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry Sr. and Gretchen Carel and Oliver and Clara Barnes. Graveside Services will be held at 3 PM Friday, June 8, 2018 at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice with Tony Franzen officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, June 7, 2018 and from 9 AM- 2 PM Friday, June 8, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
