Donald G. Dick passed away October 12, 2018 in Great Falls MT at the age of 79 from complications of Parkinson’s. A Celebration of Life for Don will be held On Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 at 11 AM in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home. Don, son of Thomas H. Dick Sr and Mary Binsfield lived in Great Falls his entire life.

He went to grade school at Franklin, middle school at West Jr. High, then graduated in 1958 from Great Falls High School. Don was drafted into the Army in 1963 and served his country until 1965 and was very proud to do his duty. After his discharge from the service, he started working at Lumber Yard Supply (LYS) in 1969 until 1999 when he was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and had to quit.

Don met Sandi Dickinson and they were married in Auburn WA September 25, 1972. Sandi had two children, Wayne and Sally. Don became an instant father, a job he loved and did well.

Don loved woodworking and when he met wildlife photographer, Conrad Rowe in 1987 his love for woodworking and Conrad’s love of photography brought about D Frame. He started making picture frames from reclaimed barn wood and oak, which he sold to local artists and friends until 2000. More health issues arrived in 2004 in the name of Parkinson’s.

He joined a support group, a great re, as he found comfort in the company of other’s in the same condition. He continued to maintain his sense of humor throughout his illness, living at home until December 2016 when he was placed in a nursing home. Donald is survived by his wife; Sandi; children; Sally Halvorsen of Maple Valley WA, Wayne (Kumchu)Dickinson from Leavenworth, WA, granddaughter, Alisa from Santa Fe Springs CA.

Brothers; Thomas Dick Jr (Marie), from Port Orchard WA, Chuck Burnaby from Dillon MT. Sisters; Maryann Komar from Billings MT, Betty (Vern) from Alberta Cananda. Nieces and Nephews; Pam Miller, Susie Dick and Terry Thecktson From WA, Cheryl (Eric) Calson from AZ, Steve (Kim) Komar, Linda (Tim) Maytum, Kimberly Maytum from Billings MT, Buck (Carmon) Maytum and children from IL, Karen Komar, Ryan (Kassie) and children, Lindsy, (Devon) Braithwaites’s from Spokane WA, Mark (Dawn) Barrett from Cutbank MT, Russ (Michele) Barrett from Fairfield MT, John (Gail) Barrett from Hagerstown MD, Tom (Wendy) Mercer from ID, Bill Mercer from WA, Barbara (Eber) Crossley from Durango CO, Margie (Dan) Waitt from Great Falls MT, Patty Mercer from UT.

Many more great nieces and nephews and he loved them all. He put up a good fight through all his health issues. Don was preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters; Margaret Mercer and Virginia Barrett, brother-in-law; Delbert Barrett; Nephews Nick Waitt, Allen Mercer and son-in-law Pemmer Halvorsen.

He will be missed by all his family and friends.
