Bruley, 87, of Chetek, died suddenly on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Lake Placid, Florida. Don was born July 15, 1931 in Cornell, the son of Clifford and Violet (Crosby) Bruley. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On September 22, 1951, Don married Peggy Hutchinson at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. He was a member of Notre Dame Church and the V.F.W. Post #1038. Don was a foreman for NSP for many years.

Don enjoyed going to the cabin and the lake, playing cards, and traveling south in the wintertime. Don is survived by two sons, Clifford Bruley of Eleva and Steve (Pam) Bruley of Eau Claire; two daughters, Debra (Ron) Lowe of Chippewa Falls and Dianne (Curt) Geissler of Stillwater, MN; two sisters, Shirley Hunsucker of Mt. Gilead, NC and Kathleen Billiard of Glen Fora; 8 grandchildren, Heather (Nolan) Mosher, Bridget (Patrick) Kurtenbach, Ryan Bruley, Jordan Bruley, Adam (Andrea) Geissler, Chad (Caryn) Bruley, Danielle (Matt) Bogenschutz, and Laura (Tim) Grier; and 8 great grandchildren, Taylor and Mason Mosher, Audrey and Amery Geissler, Lyla and Nora Bogenschulz, and Alex and Sean Doyle.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy on March 16, 2009; his parents; and one brother, Jack Bruley. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 12 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. AFTER SERVICE NOTICE: Funeral services for Donald J. Bruley were held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 12 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.

Rev. Jesse Burish of Notre Dame Church officiated at the service. Interment was in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Military rites were conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council with Taps played by Caleb Thornton. Casket bearers were Matt Bogenschutz, Chad, Jordan and Ryan Bruley, Adam Geissler and Nolan Mosher.
