Obituary for DONALD L. FILIPKOWSKI Donald L. Filipkowski, 72, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday surrounded by love. He was born in Syracuse to the late Stephen and Patricia (Baniewicz) Filipkowski on July 1st, 1946 and predeceased by one brother, Stephen Filipkowski. Don was a Master Chef at Raphael’s Restaurant for many years and served for 36 years for P & C Food Market Warehouse before retiring in 2002.

He was an active member of the Seneca River Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a descriptive true life storyteller and wonderful cook. His smile was priceless.

Don is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved spiritual wife of 52 years, Helen (Mokwa) Filipkowski, 4 daughters; Stephanie (Michael) Witaszek, Laurie (David) Brier, Darcy (Thomas) Dunn, and Johnna (John) Filipkowski-Vona, Don’s favorite and one and only grandchild; Alexis (Lexi) Dunn, a sister; Patricia Drapikowski, and 2 nephews; Johnny and Ricky Drapikowski. There are no calling hours. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Seneca River Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 7758 Maple Rd. Baldwinsville, NY 13027. BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, has care of arrangements.
