Donald L. Smith, Sr., 82, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 peacefully at home with family. He was born May 26, 1936, in Canonsburg, a son of Oscar and Ruth McDaniel Smith. Early in his career, he worked in the maintenance department at the Canonsburg Hospital.

He later joined his father at Smith Locksmith and Service, and continued the family business into another generation. Don was a member of the G.B.U., and enjoyed fishing, antique cars, dancing, and especially spending time with his family. Surviving are his son, Donald L. (Renee) Smith, Jr., of Canonsburg; his daughter, Jennifer (Gabriel) Smith, of Houston; step children, Jacquelin Bartrum, Brandon Ruetschi, Rosney Ruetschi; his brother, Art Smith, of Washington; his sister, Norma Jean Koman of Washington; grandchildren, Eliana Oviedo-Smith, Julian Oscar Smith, and Luna Oviedo-Smith; step grand-child, Maximo Bartrum; his dear companion, Carolyn Isenberg; and his former spouse, Janeth Smith.

Friends will be received Tuesday 2-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
