Donald’s Obituary Donald Roy Oxendorf Donald Roy “Oxie” “Santa” Oxendorf, age 82, of Shawano, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019. Donald was born in Milwaukee WI, on December 5, 1936 to the late Fritz and Eva (Waterhouse) Oxendorf. Donald served his country proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard until receiving an honorable discharge.

He went on to work as truck driver for Roadway Express for 32 years and was a retired Teamster. He also owned and operated Santa’s Backwoods Motel in Alvin, Wisconsin for 12 years. On February 21, 1998, he was united in marriage to his best friend and soulmate Susan Steffen in Eagle River.

Donald loved animals and had numerous fur babies throughout the years. He took great joy in playing Santa Claus around the holidays. His sense of humor and creativity was loved by all who knew him.

Donald is survived by: his wife, Susan; his children, Cindy, Tim (Janet), Keith (Debbie), and Kevin (Michelle); his siblings, Judy, Mike (Val), Jon (Sandy), and Lizabeth; his brother-in-law, Bill. He is further survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by: his parents; two children, a daughter, Sandy, and a son, Kenny in infancy; a brother, Tom; his father-in-law Henry; his mother-in-law Margaret; and a brother-in-law, Mike.

A funeral service for Donald will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano, at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. Burial will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to your local Humane Society. Donald’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Bellin Hospital for the wonderful care. www.
