Obituary for Donald R. Klemmer Donald R. Klemmer, age 88, of St. Clair passed away December 21, 2018 following a short illness. He was born March 23, 1930 in St. Clair to the late Melvin and Grace Klemmer. Don proudly served with the U.S. Marines Corps during the Korean War.

Don was also a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a Life Member of the 1st Marine Division Assoc. and he and his wife Marie attended many reunions around the country.

On October 10, 1953 Don married Marie Meyers. He was employed by the Detroit Edison for over 30 years and retired as a Supervising Operator. Don was also a member of the St. Clair Knight of Columbus Council #2251, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie Klemmer; children, Susan (John) Carter, Steve Klemmer, Kathy Baker, Sharon (John) Goulet and Bill Klemmer; grandchildren, Kevin (Ashley) Keeley, Laura (Paul) Ferryman, Adam Klemmer, Ellen (Mike) Rouleau, Steven Klemmer, Erin Baker (fiancée Mike Vartanian), Bradley (Kristy) Baker, Nicole (Anthony) Leese, Andrew (Ryann) Goulet, Carly (Robert) English, Maureen (Mike) Boullard, Meredith (Kevin) Kipke and Ellen (Jon) Carlson; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, June Foster and James Klemmer; in-laws, Sr. Eileen Meyers, Carol Meyers, Richard Wyllie, Dorothy and Ray Burgess, Loretta and Gaius Fraley and Shirlee Meyers, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Bob Baker; brother, Richard (Margaret) Klemmer; in-laws, Franz Klemmer, Ed Meyers, Donald Meyers, Marilyn Wyllie, Bernard Meyers and Kenneth Meyers. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday December 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Friday 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at church prior to mass.
