Donald’s Obituary Donald R. Roth, 68 of Slatington, PA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA. Born November 20, 1950 in Northampton, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph J. Roth and the late Marilyn E. (Peters) Roth. He was the husband of Visitacion “Bess” (Orayan) Roth with whom he shared 47 years of marriage this past February 2018.

Donald was a graduate of Parkland High School. He served honorably as an EN3 in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his service, Donald worked in assembly at Mack Trucks in Allentown, PA and continued his career as a cabinet maker for the former American Kitchens and lastly, Morris Black both of Allentown, PA.

Donald was a member of the VFW post of Macungie and of Egypt, PA and a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Laury’s Station. He and his wife were avid bowlers and enjoyed playing pinochle. Throughout the gatherings and the consistently full house that the Roths always adored, friends and family members hold fond memories of the generosity and kindness that Donald radiated.

Surviving along with his wife are son, Darin and wife Roxann Roth of Baltimore, MD, daughter, Mary Ann Nomie of Allentown, PA, grandson, Darion Nomie of Harrisburg, PA and aunt, Roma Kemmerer of Allentown, PA. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at St. John’s United Church of Christ located at 1415 Rising Sun Road Laury’s Station, Pennsylvania 18059. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service in the church.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Allentown, PA. Arrangements are under the care of Schisler Funeral Home, Inc. 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Disabled American Veterans-VAROICPO Box 42938-Wissahickon & Manheim Sts Philadelphia, PA 19101-293.
