On Monday June 25, Donald Ripley Sutherland passed away at the age of 85. Glen Ellyn resident, Donald Sutherland held a BA from Denison University, a BD from Virginia Theological Seminary, and an MA from George Washington University. He lived his entire life serving others including his extended family, church and community organizations.

A US Army veteran, Donald was a retired executive from the Employment and Training Administration at the US Department of Labor. Donald volunteered and supported St Mark’s Episcopal Church, PADs, the Crop Walk Campaign, Cathedral Shelter, Holy Family School and others. Donald is survived by his beloved wife Marie nee Panor, Sister Dorothy, Sister-in Law Anna, Daughter, Janet (Kevin Madden), Son, Mark (Elena) Grandchildren Ella and Maya along with other close extended family.

His funeral service will be held on July 28th at 11am at St Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in memory of Donald R. Sutherland to The Brain Aneurism Foundation at 269 Hanover St., Hanover MA, 02339 or Holy Family School at 3225 Arnold Ln. Northbrook, IL 60062.
