Obituary for Donald V. Lawrence Ruffin: Donald V. Lawrence, 64, of 1028 Lillard Road passed away on June 12, 2018 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County after a long courageous battle with cancer. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Cook officiating. The burial will follow in Mayfield Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Donald was born in Pittsylvania County to the late James V. Lawrence and Mary Thompson Nance. He was formerly employed with Dan River Mills and later retired from Dan Valley Foods.

He was an avid race fan and actually served on the Rodney Cook Race Team. He was a member of Union Nondenominational Church in Danville, VA. Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary and Moses Thompson; and his paternal grandparents, Luther and Ada Lawrence. Donald is survived by his wife, Marie Dianna Lawrence of the home; his daughter, Cindi Coish and husband, Frankie; his sons, Jeremy Lawrence and wife, Junae and Kevin Lawrence and wife, Stephanie; his grandchildren, Sheyenne Lawrence, Kallie Lawrence, Kelley Coish, Megan Coish, Kevin Lawrence, Olivia Lawrence and Colt Lawrence; his sister, Joan Day; his nephews, Aaron Day and Brandon Day.
