Donald W. Campbell, 87, of Calkins Lane, Wellsboro, passed away, Friday, June 1, 2018, at his residence. He was born on September 4, 1930 in Wellsboro, the son of the late Harold and Irene (Weatherbee) Campbell. Don was a graduate of Wellsboro High School, Class of 1948.

He retired from GTE, Corning Glass, in 1992 after more than 20 years of service in quality control. Don enjoyed painting and specialized in still life with his lifelong home, Wellsboro, as his backdrop. He also enjoyed photography, building doll houses and was a Wellsboro history enthusiast.

Don is survived by a sister, Shirley A. Gonzales of Wellsboro and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by four brothers; John, Robert, Keith and Francis “Bud” Campbell and two sisters; Evelyn Scranton and Ruth Dean. In keeping with Don’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.

A private burial will take place, at the convenience of the family, in the Wellsboro Cemetery.
