OBITUARY Donna M. Hughes May 27, 1933 – January 4, 2019 Donna M. Hughes, 85, formerly of Kent, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at her residence at the Gardens of Liberty in Streetsboro. Donna was born in Randolph, Ohio on May 27, 1933 to parents Joseph and Gertrude (Keller) Kissell. Donna was a wonderful mother and homemaker for her family who enjoyed baking, especially cookies and pies.

She loved to crochet and always kept an exceptionally clean house. Donna very much enjoyed her association for many years as a member of the Kent VFW Post #3703 Women’s Auxiliary and also attending the Community Bible Church in Rootstown. Donna is survived by son Stanley (Debbie) Hughes and her daughters Diane (David) Jones and Barbara (Perry) DeYoung.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sarah (Anddru) Hampton, James (Cara) Hughes, Lori (Jimmy) Lewis, Derek (Chelsea) DeYoung and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister and one brother. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Hughes, two sisters, one brother and later in life her longtime companion, Richard Bower.

Friends will be received on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St, Ravenna and again on Tuesday, January 8th from 10:00am until the 11:00am funeral service officiated by Pastor Scott Hindel. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park. Donna’s family would like to express their special thanks to the staffs of The Gardens of Liberty Park and Great Lake Caring Hospice – Akron Branch for their excellent care and compassion.
