DONNA JEAN BURNS, age 86, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 8:38 a.m. at her daughter’s home. She was born on March 12, 1932 in Fayette County to James Edgar and Lillian Opal Spurlock Byers. After high school, Donna attended Capital Beauty School in Columbus.

She owned and operated her own salon for over thirty years, “Don-A-Curl”. Donna was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She loved just being a grandma and being with her family.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William “Bill” Howard Burns, whom she married in August of 1948; grandson, Bart Curtis; and siblings, David Byers, and June Phillips. Survivors include her children, Sharon (Dale) Hill of Frankfort, Scott (Marty) Burns of Washington CH, and Joy (James) McIntosh of Sabina; grandchildren, Brett (Tonya) Curtis of Hillsboro, Judson (Lindsay) Burns of Chillicothe, Carrie (Ryan) Spears of Washington CH, and Sara (Nick) Summers of Lewis Center; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with James McIntosh officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be sent to www.
