Sister Jeanie Stoll (Sister Smile) was born Donna Jean Himpel to Arthur Bo and Ona Muriel Himpel in San Diego, California, on December 30, 1943. On December 21, 2018, just shy of her 75th birthday, at 11:45 am, she softly breathed her last words, “Jehovah, Jehovah” and slipped peacefully away in her daughter’s embrace. Her passing is mourned so very deeply by her devoted husband, David Raymond, of, in his words, ‘a most fortunate’ marriage of 53 years.

Having first met in high school in the small town of Tonganoxie, Kansas, it was love at first sight. They were high school sweethearts and then joyfully married on June 5, 1965. Jeanie and David’s son, Chuck Stoll, and their daughter, Sandra Allen, grieve the loss of their ‘always approachable’ mother together with the unwavering support of their attentive spouses, Leigh Stoll and Paul Allen along with each child’s beloved children.

In order of birth, Devon Grandstaff, Jared Stoll, Zachary Stoll, and Alex Stoll, Jeanie loved them all dearly. Jeanie is also survived by an older sister, Eunice Himpel, of Topeka, Kansas, who dearly loved her little sister, a bond like no other, as well as Eunice’s three children, cousins and extended family of Tonganoxie, Kansas, together with sisters- and brothers-in-law and their children of Topeka and Lawrence, Kansas, and abroad. Sister Stoll, a truly kind, truly benevolent soul, was wholeheartedly devoted to her Heavenly Father being baptized on January 20, 1974, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Anyone meeting Jeanie for the first time quickly received a Kingdom witness. Her Hospice caregivers lovingly said, ‘Everyone knew if you went to Miss Donna’s, you would receive a “sermon”. ’ Jeanie was convinced that she would hear Jesus’ voice awaken her from death’s deep sleep in the marvelous paradise earth sure to come under Jehovah’s sovereign rulership when the ‘last enemy death is brought to nothing’.

1 Corinthians 15:26 The Stoll Family is grateful to all of you for your many thoughts, prayers, phone calls, texts, visits, flowers, meals. A constant stream began within just a few hours by friends near and far, congregation members in South Carolina and back home in Topeka, Kansas, brothers and sister of David, namely Daniel and Ann Stoll, Stephen and Karen Stoll, and Debby and Rick Smoots, their children, Jeanie’s sister, Eunice Himpel, and her children. Your loving gestures have been such a comfort to us and we wish to comfort you in return.

Thank you all so very much. Jehovah will remember you, Mom, and we will never forget. Until then ….
