Donna L. Wojan, 71, of Charlevoix passed away on June 24, 2018 at her home. She was born on May 7, 1947 in Multnomah County, Oregon. Donna helped build and open Donto Kennels on Barnard Road in 1976 and it was the first boarding and grooming service in Charlevoix.

Her greatest joy in life was brought to her by her dogs. Donna raised many pets in her lifetime and she loved them all. She was able to breed many dogs and enjoyed spending her time competing with them at dog shows.

Donna eventually became an AKC licensed judge for dog shows. She also enjoyed white water rafting, traveling, eating Chinese food and spending time with family and friends. On August 1, 2014 in Charlevoix, Donna married Walter Wojan who survives.

She is also survived by her 6 dogs that were her children, Faith, Favor, Wink, Glory, Image, Jelly; stepdaughter, Melissa (Charlie) Stepinson of Yale, Virginia; 2 brothers, Jerry Waters of Aloha, Oregon and Dave Waters of Payette, Idaho; 3 step-grandchildren, Phillip, Hannah and Lydia along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony Wojan and brother, Craig Waters. No services are to be held at this time.

Donna and her first husband Tony, were instrumental in the development of the Charlevoix County Humane Society, as well as financial supporters. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Charlevoix County Humane Society, 614 Beardsley St., Boyne City, Mich. 49712.
