An incredibly strong lady, Donna never gave up and triumphed against the disease time and again until she received her Heavenly reward on Saturday. Donna was a Godly woman and a lifelong faithful servant of the Lord.

She was a devoted member of Robinson Street church of Christ. She and her late husband, Rick Dunham, raised their children in Christ there, where he served as an elder and she taught Bible class. What most people recall about Donna is her infectious laugh, her loving nature, and her servant’s heart.

Not to be forgotten were her ever present Dr. Peppers and crafting. Her family describes her as a great encourager and their biggest cheerleader. Donna was born on March 27, 1947.

She met the love of her life, Rick, upon moving to Edna. They were high school sweethearts and married in 1967. Their life as newlyweds began at Army boot camp; Rick just could not leave behind his bride.

The Dunhams built a house for their family of four in Edna in 1979, where they lived ever since. Donna stayed at home to raise their two daughters, Melissa and Laurie. She was quite social and outgoing.

She loved gatherings; Donna did not need much convincing to plan a get together or take a last minute trip. She was just fun! Donna later worked at Mercer Construction Company as a payroll secretary.

The Dunhams also owned and operated the Cattleman’s Western Store in Edna. Donna and Rick enjoyed 48 beautiful years of marriage until his death on July 1, 2015. Together, they were both known for their fun-loving nature and contagious happiness.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Dunham Winzeler and her husband Eric of Lubbock, Laurie Lynn Hemphill and her husband Matthew of Spring; sister, Debbie Segers of California; grandchildren, Emily Hemphill, Abigail Winzeler, Will Winzeler and numerous extended family, nieces and nephews.
