She was born on October 3, 1941 in Libertyville, the daughter of Marvin John and Mary Eileen (Ostermeier) Schaefer. She married Dennis G. Schultz on May 2, 1964 in Waukegan.

In her younger years Donna was an avid horseback rider and enjoyed barrel racing. She enjoyed boating, collecting Beanie Babies, making Raggedy Ann dolls, and loved her dogs. More than anything, Donna loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband: Dennis Schultz of Taylorville; children: Jodie Asebedo (Jody Bates) of Tovey and Anthony Schultz of Taylorville; grandchildren: Jamie Higgason (Drew) of Rochester and Jenna Asebedo of Denver, Colorado; great-grandchildren: Payslee Mae Amos and Waylen Higgason; siblings: Marvin J. Schaefer Jr. (Darlene) of Libertyville, and Joyce Braner (Brad) of Taylorville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother: Ina Edic. In keeping with Donna’s wishes, she will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.

McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
