Donna’s Obituary Donna Louise (Straub) Oetting, 72, of Emma, MO, died on Saturday, May 4, 2019, with her husband by her side, shortly after sustaining a stroke. Funeral and memorial services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church Emma, MO, on Saturday June 29, 2019. Details to follow.

Friends may sign the online register book at www. campbelllewis.com Donna was born in Waynesville, MO, on October 18, 1946, to Harold & Grace Straub and baptized on December 1, 1946, in Rolla, MO. It would take her 61 years, 4 states, and 2 countries before she’d call Missour-a home again in 2007.

During that time she met and married Dennis Oetting on April 7, 1969. They proceeded to travel, teach, travel some more, have 4 children, teach, and then take those children around the world. She created community wherever she was and embodied the fact that family is home.

Donna will be remembered for her voracious love of life. This could be seen through her laughter, her love of teaching, her delight in her family, and her mastery of the Lutheran Good-bye. Through her love of throwing great Shrove Tuesday Pancake Parties, her joy in the successes of others, her strength and growth in her partnership with Dennis, her pride in her children, and her devotion to her grandchildren.

Through the music of hand bells or tending to her garden, and by quietly straightening a Child’s crown. But mostly we saw it through her faith in her deep knowledge that she was a child of God. A beloved Daughter of The King.

She spread the peace that comes with this knowledge boldly and proudly. Donna wanted to be remembered for her heart for Jesus and his people, which led her to open her home and her heart to others all throughout her life. Survivors include: husband, Dennis Dean Oetting who survives of the home; their children: Jessica Rosenkvist (Svend) of Minneapolis, MN, Aaron Oetting (Tara) of Belvidere, IL, Joelle Coutu (Edward) of Minneapolis, MN, and Adam Oetting of Tucson, AZ.

Grandkids: Isaac, Julie, Joshua, Noah, Caleb, Aidan, Katy and Keegan. She is also survived by her brother, Phil Straub (Rose) of Saginaw, MI; and her sister, Vickii Carter (Jeff)-Noblesville, IN.
