Sasakwa resident Donnie Ray Blankenship, departed this life Monday, December 17th, 2018 in Oklahoma City at the age of 70 . He was born in Wewoka, OK on April 28, 1948 to the late Thomas “Jr”. Blankenship and Georgia Sharp Blankenship.

He was a graduate of Sasakwa High School. On January 29, 1969 he married Norma Williams at First Baptist Church Sasakwa, OK and to this union two children were born. He was a member of First Baptist Church Sasakwa.

Donnie was a well known Wewoka Policeman… Read More » and Seminole County Deputy. He started in law enforcement 1972 and retired in 2010 at Seminole Junior College as a Campus Police Officer. Donnie was an avid gun builder and collector.

He loved animals ,and watching the wildlife in his back yard. He liked to collect cars and truck and spare time was spent with family and friends Preceding Donnie in death are his parents, daughter Lori Gail Rubottom , sister Linda Lance. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 49 years Norma Blankenship of Sasakwa, OK; son David Ray Blankenship and wife Tina of Tishomingo, OK; grandchildren Amiee Blankenship and Landon Blankenship; siblings Charlotte Johnson and husband Stewart of Ada, OK, Wayne Clifton and wife Jackie of Sasakwa, OK, Jackey Lee Blankenship and wife Debra of Holdenville, OK, Vickie Sweeden of Sasakwa, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.
